The Community Service Center of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta attended the IV Religious Moderation Real Work Lecture (KKN-MB) Coordination Meeting throughout Indonesia in 2024 and Social Mapping was held in Kuningan Regency, West Java, on 12-14 June 2024.
This activity was attended by around 58 PTKIN throughout Indonesia, plus the I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa State Hindu University (UHN) Denpasar and the Mataram State Hindu High School (STHN). KKN-MB activities are planned to take place from 15 July to 24 August 2024 in Cigugur District, Kuningan Regency, with UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung as the host.
The coordination meeting was attended by the Deputy Chancellor 1 of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, the Head of Cigugur District, the Head of the Community Service Sub-Team of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Chair of the Community Service Center Head Forum. Deputy Chancellor 1 of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Dr. Dadan Rusmana welcomed this activity and emphasized his commitment to being a good host. He explained that the KKN-MB location was chosen because of its diverse communities, including Muslims, Christians, Hindus and Sundanese Wiwitan, who live in harmony and peace.
The Head of Cigugur Subdistrict, Yono Rahmansah, added that Cigugur Subdistrict is the right choice for religious maturation, with people who have different religions but live in harmony. Six villages will be the locations for KKN-MB, with Cigugur Village, Cisantana Village and Babakan Mulia Village requiring special attention because of their diversity.
Head of the Center for Community Service at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Dr. Aep Kusnawan explained that this activity involved around 300 students from various Religious Universities in Indonesia, with each university sending a maximum of 6 students.
"This activity aims to create interactive communication between students and the community about the importance of maintaining religious harmony and implementing student knowledge according to their respective scientific disciplines," said Aep Kusnawan.
After the coordination meeting, the activity continued with social mapping and a visit by the PTKN Community Service Center Head Forum to the KKN participants' accommodation, as well as visits to the Maria Fatima and Tenjolaut Caves in Palutungan Hamlet, Cisantana Cigugur Village, the Kuningan Regency Islamic Center, and the Linggarjati Agreement Building.
Head of the Center for Community Service at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, Khasan Ubaidillah, hopes that the Religious Moderation KKN will help students learn about harmonious religious life, foster mutual respect, and implement the knowledge gained on campus directly in the midst of a diverse community.
