Holding a Research Methodology Workshop, LP2M Presents Experts from Leiden

LP2M UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta held a workshop entitled "Developing Research in Islam and Social Sciences" on Tuesday, July 9 2024. This event was attended by a number of academics and researchers who were interested in exploring the latest issues in this field of study.

This workshop is an important discussion platform for the development of science at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, especially in the context of research related to Islam and social sciences. Two inspiring keynote speakers, Dr. Reza Shaker Ardakeni from Leiden University and Prof. Yanwar Pribadi, MA. from UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten, providing in-depth insights from international and local perspectives.

Dr. Reza Shaker Ardekani, a leading academic from Leiden University, discusses the latest trends in social science research related to Islam, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in the current era of globalization. With his extensive experience and knowledge, Dr. Ardekani brings an in-depth and detailed view of how social science research can make a significant contribution to understanding the complexity of Muslim societies in various contexts. He explained his experience conducting research on Islam and AI.

Meanwhile, Prof. Yanwar Pribadi, focuses on local aspects in the development of Islamic research. With a rich background of academic and practical experience in Indonesia, Prof. Yanwar Pribadi discussed the relevance of research in solving social and cultural challenges faced by Muslim communities in Indonesia.

This workshop not only provided an opportunity for participants to hear thoughts from two leading experts, but also facilitated discussion and exchange of ideas between the participants present. With the Rectorate's main courtroom as the event venue, the atmosphere was more serious but still warm and collaborative, allowing participants to learn from and be inspired by each other.

It is hoped that active participation from researchers can have a positive impact in developing research networks and broadening intellectual horizons in this field. This workshop is not only an opportunity to explore important themes in Islamic research and social sciences, but also to build an academic community that is committed to continuing to contribute to the development of knowledge that is beneficial to the wider community.

Thus, it is hoped that the "Developing Research in Islam and Social Sciences” workshop at LP2M UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta on July 9 2024 will be an important milestone in the university's academic and intellectual journey in advancing the study of Islam and social sciences in Indonesia.
