Conducting Institutional Benchmarking, LP2M UIN Surakarta becomes UIN Malang's Destination

LP2M News - The Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta welcomed a delegation from LP2M UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in the sambernyowo hall of PTIPD, Friday (8/12). The purpose of this meeting is a follow-up to the previous meeting held at UIN Malang last September.

If the previous discussion process focused on the BLU (Public Service Agency) that had just been held by UIN Surakarta, then this forum explored more about the governance of activities carried out as a bechmarking process or comparison of an organization's operating system.

The opening remarks were delivered directly by Dr. Muhammad Latif Fauzi S.H.I, M.SI., MA. Ph.D. (Head of LP2M UIN Surakarta) by introducing the organizational structure and said that this discussion is good because the institution has the same direction in the development and community service of the campus.

"This forum can be a good medium for sharing between fellow LP2M UIN Surakarta and UIN Malang" he said.

Dr. Zainul Abas, M.Ag (Vice Rector 1) previously served as Chairman of LP2M which is currently replaced by Dr. Muhammad Latif Fauzi S.H.I, M.SI., MA. Ph.D also attended this discussion forum. He revealed a lot of lessons learned regarding the governance of UIN Malang.

"UIN Malang's governance is neat, including the output and outcomenya" he said.

The remarks were continued by Ahmad Abtokhi M.Pd (Secretary of LP2M UIN Malang) by explaining that the institution oversees 9 study centers such as, Research Center, Scientific Publication Center, PKM Center, PSGA, International Cooperation Center, Center for Religious and Socio-Cultural Moderation, Center for Health Services to the Community, Center for Islamic and Science Studies, P3SR Center.

The repository system is very helpful for institutions as a repository for research results and lecturer service. The implementation of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) which are centered directly on the rector down to related institutions, makes the institution's goals more focused.

"We only have five KPIs, namely Journals, Research Outputs and PKM, International Accredited Journals, Research Products Applied to the Community, and Services," he said.
