Book review of "What Is Religious Authority," with (Professor) Ismail Fajri Alatas, Ph. D with Moderator Muhammad Latif Fauzi, S.H.I., M.A., Ph. D.

LP2M News - On Friday (1/3), State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Mas Said Surakarta invited Ismail Fajri Alatas, Ph.D, a speaker and author of an extraordinary book. The title of the book, "What Is Religious Authority."

"The congregation follows the sunnah and the sunnah also follows the congregation, because it cannot be a sunnah if the sunnah does not follow the congregation. Sunnah is an application that must be practiced," said Prof. Ismail Fajri Alatas who is familiarly called Prof. Aji.

Prof. Aji explained the important argument in the book that religion is the shaper of a life format, so religion must be in accordance with life.

At this book review event, Prof. Aji gave an overview of what authority relations are. "The relation of authority has a fundamental past. It has a relationship with the past that is considered fundamental. One of the explanations of religious authority is the relation of authority from the past," said Prof. Aji.

This book review event was held in the Theatrical Room on the 2nd Floor of SBSN UIN Raden Mas Said Building. This event was not only attended by students from the campus. There were students from Sebelas Maret University, students from Muhammadiyah University Surakarta, and several santri representatives from various Islamic boarding schools in Surakarta. The Rector of UIN Raden Mas Said and the ranks of lecturers also participated in enlivening this activity.

The book review was greeted with great enthusiasm by the audience because the speakers and moderators presented the event in a lively and non-stressful manner. The event lasted from 13.00 until 15.30 WIB.
